Reconstruction of acquired or congenital anomalies of the craniofacial skeleton is a particularly challenging task for the surgeon. Commonly, previous surgeries and/or inadequate native donor tissue limit the use of reconstruction with autografts, which is deemed the ‘gold standard’. Advancing 3D custom-made implant technology is changing the way in which surgeons reconstruct complex craniofacial defects. The use of Skulle custom-made implants is widely documented in Neurosurgery but is yet to gain popularity in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS). We present our experience of Craniofacial Skeletal reconstruction with Skulle implants.
